FLAG OF ECUADOR
The yellow of the flag is twice as large as the other stripes and symbolizes the crops and soil of Ecuador. The blue in the flag is the color of the sky and ocean. The red in the flag symbolizes the blood from the battles for Ecuador to get its independence. There are four flags of Ecuador to the left and right of the coat of arms with branches on top, representing victory. Above the branches is a condor which provides the country with protection. Inside the coat of arms is Chimborazo mountain, Guayas River, and a bright sun. The months, March, April, May, and June are important to Ecuador’s history, so the zodiac signs in those months (Aries, Taurus, Gemini, and Cancer) are to the left and right of the sun.
